FCC increases revenue by 13.1% and raises net profit by 46.6% in the first nine months of the year

  • EBITDA increased by 8.4% to €1,147.7 million, driven by revenue growth across the main business areas.

FCC Group recorded revenue of €7,976.5 million in the first nine months of 2026, 13.1% more than in the same period of 2025. The Construction business area led this growth, with an increase of 27.4%, followed by Environment, which advanced by 8.1%, and Water, by 3.5%. Concessions, meanwhile, maintained similar levels, with revenue of €81 million.

International activity grew by 14.8% to €4,029.1 million and now accounts for 50.5% of the Group’s revenue. In Spain, revenue increased by 11.4% to €3,947.4 million.

This positive performance was also reflected in gross operating profit (EBITDA), which increased by 8.4% to €1,147.7 million, driven by revenue growth in the main business areas.

Net profit attributable to the parent company stood at €230 million in the first nine months of 2026, 46.6% higher than the €156.9 million recorded in the same period of the previous year. This improvement was mainly due to EBITDA growth and the favourable effect of exchange-rate differences, which contributed €40.4 million during the period, compared with the negative impact of €61.8 million recorded in the same period of 2025.

At 30 September 2026, net financial debt amounted to €2,802 million, compared with €2,301.8 million at year-end 2025, mainly due to the seasonal performance of working capital.

Equity increased to €4,907.2 million, 3.5% higher than in December 2025.

Lastly, FCC Group’s revenue backlog stood at €56,058.7 million at the end of September, 8.6% higher than at the close of the previous financial year, with positive performance across all business areas, led by the Water division.

Milestones

In Spain, several renewals and awards stand out:

  • In Badalona, the urban services contract, provided since 1960, has been renewed. The new contracts awarded for waste collection, street cleaning and household recycling centre management represent combined backlog of €464 million for the next 12 and 10 years, respectively.
  • Barcelona City Council has renewed the cleaning and maintenance service for its sewer network with FCC Environment for €123.1 million over the next eight years, with a possible two-year extension. This renewal reaffirms the trust placed in FCC Environment since 1911.
  • Parla City Council again awarded municipal solid waste collection, street cleaning and household recycling centre management to the joint venture formed by FCC Environment. The contract represents attributable backlog of €75.9 million over the next 11 years and includes investment of €10 million.
  • In waste treatment, the following stand out: last February, the award of the El Puerto de Santa María recovery and recycling centre, for 14 years and with associated backlog of €62.7 million. In France, the La Veuve concession contract, with a term of more than 10 years and a value of €153 million. It covers the operation, maintenance and modernisation of the UVE (Unité de Valorisation Energétique), with a capacity of 110,000 t/year of non-recyclable waste (residual household waste, incinerable bulky waste and sorting rejects).
  • In the United States, FCCenviro renewed the household waste and recycling collection contract for Service Area 4 in Palm Beach County, first awarded in 2019. The new contract came into force this October 2026, with associated backlog of USD 130 million for the next seven years. It was also awarded the municipal solid waste collection service in New Smyrna Beach (Florida). The contract represents backlog of around €78 million over the next 10 years, with a possible further ten-year extension, consolidating the company's presence in Volusia County, where it already serves other nearby communities.
  • Lastly, among the investments made, this October FCC Ámbito, the subsidiary specialising in industrial waste, reached an agreement to acquire 100% of Rymoil, S.A., including its interests in Aprochim Getesarp Rymoil and AGR Catalysts Recovery, companies operating in northern Spain.

Water

New contract awards during the period were particularly notable in Spain, Peru, the United States and Japan:

  • Spain: various extensions and new contracts, maintaining a success rate above 90%, with an aggregate value of more than €800 million. These include the renewal of the Ibiza water supply and sewerage management contract for more than €348 million over 20 years, the 5-year extension of the Adeje water supply contract for a total of €125 million and of the Jaén contract for more than €104 million for water supply, sanitation and wastewater treatment; the joint venture award for the management of Agua de Añarbe, in Guipúzcoa, for €29.2 million, the €24.2 million extension of the Santa Marta de Tormes contract and the extension of the water supply, sewerage, treatment and ancillary works service in the municipality of Sant Joan de Labritja (Balearic Islands) for €17.5 million.

The project includes design, financing and construction, as well as operation and maintenance for a period of 26 years, and represents backlog of more than €490 million. The award comes one year after the Chincha sanitation contract and strengthens FCC Aqualia's leadership in Public-Private Partnership projects in Peru.
  • In the United States, FCC Aqualia has strengthened its position by signing a strategic contract with the authorities of Corpus Christi, Texas, to commission a desalination plant. The project will strengthen the city's water security in the face of an unprecedented drought, as part of a public investment programme of around €148 million. FCC Aqualia will be responsible for the design, supply, construction, commissioning and five-year operation of a brackish water reverse osmosis (BWRO) plant, which will be integrated into the municipal water supply system. First concession contract in Japan (Toyohashi), for the modernisation and operation, as part of a consortium, of a water treatment plant for a period of 30 years and with associated backlog of more than €120 million.
  • In addition, Aqualia has been recognised as one of the five best companies at the ‘Water Oscars 2026’. Aqualia was a finalist in two categories of the prestigious Global Water Awards 2026, the most relevant international awards in the water sector, granted by the specialist platform Global Water Intelligence. The company was nominated in the ‘Water Company of the Year’ and ‘Reuse Project of the Year’ categories.

Construction

During this period, following the considerable increase in contract awards in the previous year, there has been a process of consolidation; nevertheless, the following projects stand out:

  • Last August, FCC Canada Ltd announced that ONxpress Civils Contractor General Partnership (“ONxpress”), a 50/50 consortium between Aecon and FCC Canada, has signed alliance contracts with Metrolinx to advance the “GO Expansion” rail project in Ontario. FCC's share of the contracts amounts to more than USD 1.2 billion.
  • In September, FCC Construction Australia, in collaboration with Ecove, secured the Sydney Olympic Park Integrated Station Development Precinct (ISDP) contract, which will be delivered as part of the Sydney Metro West project. It will consist of the construction of a new metro station, together with the development of a wider area in Sydney Olympic Park, one of the city's most important areas. The works will include public realm improvements, development of the station precinct and integration with the Sydney Metro West rail network.
  • The consortium led by FCC Construction was awarded a contract worth more than €735 million to build the third runway at Riyadh International Airport (Saudi Arabia), together with the associated auxiliary infrastructure. The project has an estimated execution period of 3.5 years and contributes attributable backlog of more than €400 million.

In Spain, the following works stand out:

  • In civil works, the contract to upgrade a section of the A-4, with a combined value of €125 million, and participation in the consortium awarded the €135.8 million contract to build 11.8 kilometres of double-track line in Catalonia (Cambrils - Adif Vila-seca station section), with eleven stops, two of them interchanges.
  • Particularly noteworthy for its uniqueness is the €174 million contract awarded last March to the consortium in which FCC Construction participates for the design and construction of IFMIF-DONES, a particle accelerator to be built in Escúzar (Granada) to experiment with fusion energy and advance towards a new model of clean and unlimited energy, like that produced by the stars.

Concessions

  • Development of the Route 8 road concession in Aragon reached 71% completion at the end of the period. In addition, the two equity-accounted concessions, Lima Metro (Peru) and WTC (Barcelona), are progressing with the start-up of operations at new stations and the redevelopment of uses of the concession space, respectively.
  • In the first nine months of the year, passenger volumes on tram concessions grew by 2.5%, while vehicle traffic on road concessions rose by more than 1%.
  • In terms of awards, the A-465 dualling concession (Wales, United Kingdom) was named Bronze Winner 2026 at the CCS National Site Awards.
